Mumbai: Global collaborative workspace major WeWork has launched its fourth space in Mumbai, in Goregaon. The new space – Oberoi Commerz II – is the latest addition to its spaces in Mumbai, after BKC, Marol and Vikhroli.
This new space spans six floors of a 30-storey LEED Gold-certified commercial building, in an area designated as the International Business Park of the city. Members can enjoy a “stunning” view of the city’s skyline, access to high-rise buildings with premium office spaces, and a five-star hotel. Oberoi is situated right off the Western Express Highway and is “well-connected” to the airport, the company said.
“As Indian organisations grow, culture and collaboration are key to driving innovation and fostering a productive work environment. By strengthening our presence in Mumbai, we are able to support businesses of all sizes in their growth trajectory with the services, space and community that they need to succeed in the global business ecosystem,” the company’s CWeO Karan Virwani said.
According to Virwani, the latest location is aimed at “sparking” collaboration, innovation and ideas, with WeWork’s signature elements like phone booths, nooks, game room, meditation, wellness room and large common areas. Creators in the Goregaon neighbourhood will find the space filled with inspiring amenities. In addition, dog-friendly spaces, mother’s room, multiple conference and conversation rooms, showers and an on-site gym add comfort and convenience.
Upon entering the building, he elaborated, “its modern interiors augmented with the use of Italian Marble ‘Satvario’ and concrete flooring stands out in the light-filled space. With the design team maintaining continuity of the building’s architecture by adding strokes of bright colours to give off a contemporary vibe, the main member floor and common area reflect the spirit that brings the space to life along with contemporary furnishings in velvet, suede and leather that also infuse the space with comfort and style.”
A key visual element and component of the space, he added, is a tree-like seating feature that gives it a very modern “vibe”. With this being the “perfect” spot to sit around to share ideas or just have a cuppa with team members, the space is also accompanied by abstract, “vibrant” artwork designed by the WeWork Art & Graphics team that “perfectly” complements the grey concrete floors and white walls.
“Well-lit with a glass elevation that provides ample natural light, the space’s core design approach was to create a space for members that feels clean and minimalistic in style. Instilling a refreshing take on the urban neighbourhood, the space complements with a sophisticated experience that is simple yet highly functional.”
