Pumps manufacturer Grundfos India launched on November 7 its latest manufacturing facility in India. Located in Dantali, Gujarat, the plant was inaugurated by the company’s leaders from its headquarters in Denmark and Asia Pacific regional headquarters in Singapore.
Ranganath N K, managing director of Grundfos India said, “This is a key strategic move for Grundfos India. By setting up this facility we strengthen our presence and network in the western and northern regions of India. We aim to achieve Rs 2 billion in business by 2018 from this plant alone.”
The facility is spread across two acres and will supply stainless steel products, boosters, and box products. Envisioned on the ‘Make in India’ model, it will also export stainless steel components to Grundfos’ global facilities in Europe, Americas and China.
Ranganath added, “Staying true to the company’s sustainability focus, this facility will allow Grundfos to save on transportation time and distance, thereby reducing the impact on the environment through these CO2 reductions. This also means that our customers in the west and north of India will get quicker deliveries of their products as well.”
