Facebook has said that it is eyeing to train five lakh small and medium businesses (SMBs) and individuals in the country by 2020. The social media giant has launched two programmes – Digital Training and Facebook Startup Training Hubs – for personalised online learning. It wants to train them on digital skills necessary to compete in the rapidly emerging domestic digital economy.
These are being rolled out first in the country and have been developed with local organisations, such as Digital Vidya, EDII, DharmaLife and StartupIndia for developing the learning curriculum. The company has said that it will provide digital skills and training for people in need of work, and advise entrepreneurs on beginning and running existing businesses.
