The policy intends to reflect the government’s priorities and capture the opportunities that have emerged both in energy technologies and markets across the globe.
National Institution for Transforming India, also called NITI Aayog, has extended the time for submission of comments on the Draft National Energy Policy (NEP) till July 24, it said in an official notice.
Earlier, the last date was July 14.
NITI Aayog has been tasked by the government to draft NEP which would reflect the government’s priorities. The policy also intends to capture the opportunities that have emerged both in energy technologies and markets across the globe. It would replace the Integrated Energy Policy framed by the erstwhile Planning Commission in 2008.

“Looking to the strategic nature of the sector, NEP will be finalised after wide consultations with all the stakeholders and public at large. Through this notification on NITI Aayog’s website, it is requested that comments, views, recommendations, and any other input may be forwarded electronically to Rajnath Ram, Joint Adviser (Energy), NITI Aayog on [email protected] and 011 2309 6728,” NITI Aayog said.
